CLAY TARGET SPORTS

The Clay Target Shooting group meets September through April. We will shoot on Tuesday mornings.    Meet at Ben Avery at 9:00 AM.  We send field information out to the group’s email prior to the events. We welcome anyone who would like to try trap, skeet, and sporting clays shooting.  Whether you are experienced or a novice shooter, there are people available to help you out.

You are required to have ear and eye protection, shot gun and shells containing lead shot only (7.5, 8, 9 shot size only).   Ben Avery has rented shotguns in the past, if you need one, please call Ben Avery to see if they have one available. They also have a limited amount of ammunition available.  See the following web link for rules and safety information:  https://www.azgfd.com/shooting-sorts/ben-avery-shooting-facility/clay-target-center/clay-target-center-rules/.

There is a safety course consisting of a video and a short test verifying that you understand the safety procedures.  It used to be a  requirement to complete these items before you were allowed to shoot, but I didn’t see this as a requirement on their web page this time.  If you have never shot on a public course, I highly recommend that you complete the course.  The video and test are available on the web site.
